Howard S - July 2021

You know when coming down the narrow lanes and then an incredible view of the sea and bay, that this is going to be fabulous  - and it is.  At the end of a track, so peaceful, incredible views and absolute comfort.  The cottage is so beautiful, cosy and has everything you need and more.  The towns were busy in Cornwall, the beaches a bit crowded but here at the cottage there were no crowds and the beach empty because it is so out of the way.  Despite a film crew from Amazon doing exciting things, it was sheer bliss.  I cannot stress how lovely it all is - Helen is a fabulous host and nothing is too much trouble.  Didn't want to leave so that means will have to go again.

Denise K - July 2020

We were so fortunate to have booked Mill Farm a year ago for our annual trip to Cornwall. The extra health and cleaning conditions due to COVID were reassuring and didn't impact on our stay at all.  Everything we needed in the cottage was on hand.  the kitchen and bathrooms were perfect for our large group.  We so enjoyed the gardens as well for our evening BBQ.  Walks to the beach in the evening were a regular trip for us all, enjoying the sunsets.  We want to book again immediately!

Just wanted to thank you for sharing your wonderful holiday home with us.  We had possibly the best family holiday ever!  Every morning, at some unearthly hour, the menfolk took the three grandchildren down the road to the beach and we spent the rest of the time at Widemouth or one of the Bude Beaches.  However for the grandchildren, the true highlight of the holiday was the stream.  I think they will carry the memory of the stream with them for ever.

Beautiful tranquil property, fully equipped with everything you could possibly need.  Clean and inviting.  So quiet you could hear an apple drop from the tree in the beautiful grounds.  Remotely situated with plenty of parking on site.  The drive to the house is along a narrow road with some tight spots to negotiate but once you have driven this route a few times and respect the local driving rules, a toot from the horn now and then, it's a breeze.

No local shop but a lovely big Morrison, Lidl and Sainsburys in Bude plus an array of quaint local shops and bakers to buy those important pasties.  Plenty of room in the cottage for all your shopping.

The hills either side of the property are perfect for keeping fit and the views stunning from the coastal position.  Idyllic!

We had a wonderful holiday and Mill Farm is so beautiful. So peaceful and quiet with just the sound of the waves in the cove and the skylarks above. We enjoyed the beaches at Widemouth and Bude town, but the garden at the cottage is so perfect for soaking up the sun and relaxing that we also spent a lot of time there.

The house was beautifully presented throughout and was very clean and tidy. It has all the character and charm of a historic property, with sympathetic extension providing smart new bathrooms and kitchen facilities. It is very well equipped for the larger group, as we are used to taking sharp knives and large frying pan with us when we are self-catering but here none of these there were required.

The descriptions were accurate and Owners were a delight to deal with. Very helpful and accommodating throughout. We are sure that we will be looking to return again as Mill Farm was perfect for us as a family.

The Mill Farm is that perfect combination of a traditional Cornish farmhouse - slate floors, exposed beams - and a modern luxurious house - state-of-the-art kitchen, bathrooms etc. When we arrived, the house was spick and span throughout and all the beds made up for us; I could not fault the cleanliness of the entire property and neatness of the gardens. I have stayed at The Mill Farm for many years and have always found the owner incredibly courteous and helpful, exceeding expectations in quality of service and willingness to accommodate any special requests.

Millook Bay has a beautiful, isolated beach, just a short walk from the house, which has a surface of either rounded stones and pebbles or coarse sand, depending on the whim of the sea. It has lots of pools for exploring and rocks to climb, which should keep any child happy for hours. Though Millook itself is quiet and isolated, there are towns and villages with all sorts of attraction within an easy driving distance, or for the more adventurous, a stout walk along the Cornish Cliff Path, itself a wonderful asset for the area. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Mill Farm to any of my relatives or friends - or indeed anyone who is looking for somewhere quiet, comfortable, well-appointed and very special to stay.

We went to Cornwall during the May half term for a family wedding and were fortunate to stay at Mill Farm.  The photos and description are very accurate and actually don't do this beautiful place justice, it is an absolutely stunning house in a gorgeous setting.  Mill Farm is possibly one of the cleanest holiday homes we have stayed in and contains everything you need for a relaxing, quiet holiday. Helen and Roz were extremely helpful from the outset of the booking last year and answered our many questions.  They continued to be available on the telephone if needed during our holiday.

We spent most of our time exploring the stunning coastal path which you can walk to within two minutes and the views are spectacular.  The beaches in the surrounding area are quiet and unspoiled and we took a stroll to Millook beach every evening to watch the sun go down.  We spent most evenings cooking and eating at Mill Farm which was perfect after exploring the surrounding coastal area.   The nearest supermarkets are in Bude which is a 10 minute drive away.  Bude also has everything else you may need including some delicious pasty shops!

We are already considering a return trip to Mill Farm and Millook and can't wait to rebook.

Emma G - August 2016

Wanting to show relatives from abroad this wonderful part of England, we were looking for a picturesque location by the sea, surrounded by beautiful countryside, and a charming Cornish Cottage to accommodate 2 families. Mill Farm was exactly what we were looking for and exceeded our expectations by far.

Mill Farm is situated in the beautiful Millook valley, only a few minutes walk from the beach. The setting is idyllic, far away from the bustle of everyday life. Widemouth Bay and Bude are just down the road and perfect for some shopping, a day on the beach or some surfing. Despite the longer distances to the south (Lizard Point and Lands End were a long drive) we managed to explore the whole of Cornwall (as well as Dartmoor and Exeter), and always looked forward to returning to Mill Farm in the evening. The cottage is also on the coastal path which offers stunning views of the coast and surrounding area. We walked to Bude, which took about 2.5 hours, but it was well worth it.

The house was very clean and tidy on arrival, and we immediately felt at home. It offers a mix of old and new, and we loved the wooden beams, low ceilings and window seats. It is very comfortable, ideal for two families, and equipped with everything one could need on holiday. There´s everything from a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, coffee machine, to board games for the kids, books, body boards for the beach, a BBQ and much more. Three bathrooms and two sitting rooms meant that everyone had their own space and could relax.

I must also mention the wonderful communication and service, without which this wonderful holiday would not have been possible.
Thank you Roz and Helen.

'Idyllic' is the most appropriate word I can use. The property is a combination of historic, period architecture and sympathetic modernisation, which come together to provide accommodation that meets all the requirements I was looking for.

We instantly felt 'at home', whilst retaining a sense of awe at the beauty of the location, setting and admiration for the owner's sense of style and practicalities. Everything you could possibly need is provided - from both catering and laundry perspectives, plus other considerations that just added to the overall value of our stay - board games, books, barbecue - to name a few. If you add to this, the wonderful communication from the owners - prior to, during and after the stay, plus the services of their excellent housekeeper, you couldn't really ask for better 'customer service'.

I'm happy to recommend Mill Cottage to visitors and I look forward to having the opportunity to visit again, in the future.

We found the cottage, gardens and the area of Millook to be truly delightful. The property was well laid out and had a tasteful mix of old and new which worked extremely well plus the bonus of enough room for eight of us to spread out without getting in each others way.

Tea in the lovely garden was a pleasure and both our families enjoyed a barbecue and eating outside. With the gurgle of the small stream at the bottom of the garden and the breeze rustling through the trees the whole place was idyllic and very peaceful.

We have no hesitation in recommending this cottage and both Roz and Helen are really lovely and fully committed to ensuring your stay is enjoyable. Their customer service is excellent.

Also plenty to do in the surrounding area and you do get used to the narrow lanes. Thank you so much.

What a delightful place to stay! Mill Farm was everything we hoped for from the description and more. The perfect home for a week away with the whole family. The farmhouse happily accommodated 8 of us which included 3 children. The kitchen was the perfect size with everything you could need to cook for 8 people. The two sitting rooms provided a play room for the children and a calm sitting room for the adults with a beautiful fire. The back door leads into a large cloakroom and boot room which was just what you need with 3 children and muddy boots. The luxury of 3 large bathrooms meant there was never a queue! The children loved the garden with the stream just as i had hoped they would. We spent may a happy hour playing in the garden while Nanny sat in the sunshine with a cup of tea. It was the perfect base to explore Port Isaac, Crackington, Tintagel, Boscastle, Launceston, swimming in Bude leisure centre with a wave machine, cycling on the Camel Trail ( starting at Wadebridge to Bodmin or Padstow) and playing on the pebble beach 5 minutes walk from the farmhouse.

On arrival the place was spotlessly clean and well cared for. Roz, the owner provided the best customer service I have ever experienced. She went out for her way to make sure we were happy.Thank you Roz and Helen for letting us share your beloved family holiday home. We loved it too! Can't wait for our next holiday at Mill Farm.

We stayed here in September 2016 for my parents' 35th wedding anniversary. The cottage was everything we could have hoped for. The cottage itself is cosy, whilst being spacious enough for 8 people to enjoy each other's company without feeling crowded. Waking up to the lovely peaceful garden, we instantly felt at home and our stresses melt away. The cottage has comfortable beds, modern kitchen and bathrooms and amenities (and good pressure in the showers!) whilst retaining its rustic charm. We explored the surrounding countryside, and also drove further afield to south Cornwall where my dad had spent time growing up.

Our hosts were very thoughtful with a detailed package emailed to us in advance with directions on how to find the cottage (which were spot on) and information on local supermarkets.

We spent evenings dining around the lovely dinner table and then curled up in the lounge. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would not hesitate to recommend this cottage and friendly hosts. We were actually saying it would be lovely to be able to drive here every weekend!

Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
